Connect to the directory with MCP

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) lets compatible AI clients search this directory and read public firm profiles as tools. The server is already hosted here: you connect your client to it, not install a copy of the directory.

Connect your client

Use this remote Streamable HTTP endpoint in a client that supports it:

https://aifirmindex.com/mcp

There is no account or API key. Opening that URL in a browser returns “Method not allowed” because MCP clients send POST requests; this page is the human-readable guide.

Claude Code

In a terminal with Claude Code installed, run:

claude mcp add --transport http ai-firm-index https://aifirmindex.com/mcp

Then run claude mcp list to check it is configured. See the Claude Code MCP documentation .

Claude custom connector

If your plan supports custom connectors, go to Customize → Connectors → + → Add custom connector and enter the endpoint above. On Team or Enterprise plans, an organisation owner must add the connector first.

Other clients may use different menus. Select a remote HTTP/Streamable HTTP connection; a client that only supports local (stdio) commands needs its own compatible bridge. A bare URL in a local-command configuration will not start this server.

What you can ask

search_firms: Find firms by keyword, region or practice area.
get_firm: Read the public details of one firm using its profile ID.
list_regions: See the regions available for filtering.
list_focus_areas: See the practice areas available for filtering.
